Recurring motifs such as peonies symbolizing wealth, goldfish representing abundance, and butterflies associated with blessings are central elements in his creations. By reimagining these traditional subjects, Lin crafts pieces that feel both familiar and visually refreshing.
In his Diamond Blossom series, the peony—an emblem of prosperity—is placed within a setting of sparkling diamonds, using dazzling visual effects to express an ancient wish. Meanwhile, the Prosperity and Abundance series cleverly merges symbols such as goldfish, currency, and the traditional “Nine Like” motif. Drawing on folk themes, these works achieve a lavish yet tasteful aesthetic, while also showcasing the artist’s distinctive sense of humor.
